Jan & Ste took a weekend out during the wedding planning to come visit us in Kerry, like a lot of couples. They wanted our style of photography and put a lot of work into finding us. Stephen is an Art Director at Brown Bag Films, you may remember they were nominiated for an Oscar in 2010 with Granny O’Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty.
They had dinner in Killarney the evening before visiting us and were served by a local lady who told them how great we were ( thank you to that lady) and their mind was made up.
A couple of coffees in Starbucks since our first meeting and we were all set.
Wedding day arrives, Keith and I called early to Jan for a cuppa as she was finishing her make-up and it was only then we realised how much her late father had loved photography. There were images hanging everywhere that he had taken of family holidays and of Janis. We took an image of her sitting underneath a wonderful image he had taken of her as a little girl.
Keith then left to go to Ste’s house and was spotted by a good friend of ours from Kerry driving throught Terenure, you gotta love Ireland for that.
We made the journey to Wicklow in the rain and the mood was surreal, for any of your that know Rathsallagh, the mist and fire coming from the house created a blanket of tranqulity.
And so the wedding begins..
For those of you who often ask what is our plan “b” in case it rains, we never have a plan “a” we just go with the flow and you know what, it works everytime 🙂
Thank you for reading.
