There is a church in Bunratty Folk Park that we didn’t even know existed. It’s called Ardcroney Church and was moved stone by stone from Tipperary to Bunratty. It’s a magical place with timber beams and beautiful light and surrounded by history.
Kelly & Bill commissioned us to shoot and witness their very private ceremony late last Autumn which was celebrated by Dara Molloy who travelled from the Aran Islands to be with them. Dara told us a story during the ceremony about his family hailing from the same townland as the church we were standing in, originated.
Just to continue the coincidences, Bill was also a Molloy and we all came to the conslusion that a distant family connection was possible.
There is nothing more traditonal than the Bride walking to the church especially when the Groom greets her at the gate and takes the most important steps together.
A slight wardrobe adjustment and we were good to go.
Special words, music first written and performed in the 15th century and a country church built in the 18th century all led to a special moment in the 21st century.
All too soon we all went our seperate ways in the knowledge that more history had been created in these beautiful surroundings but most importantly…
Love is timeless.
