Their first date was spent at a party on her dad's boat on St. Patrick' s Day 2007. This is the reason they eloped to Ireland with the help of Michelle McDermott from http://www.dreamirishwedding.com/ who planned the event and arranged the wedding to take plact on St. Patricks Day 2012 at the Cliffs of Moher. It was our first wedding at The Cliffs so we were super excited. Up until the week of the wedding there was talk of us being the witnesses but we're delighted to report that Courtney's sister made it back from Germany to be part of their special day.

The ferry trip from Tarbert to Killimer was an interesting one as we were watching the rain across in Clare and expecting a challenge. When we arrived at Doonbeg  for our first meeting with Courtney & Troy we knew instantly that they were going to be a dream to shoot.

Preparations were underway, Courtney impressively completed her own hair & make up, while we grabbed some details. Troy was sent away so we had 10 minutes with the bride to use the wonderful setting and lighting in the villa.

We were in charge of timing so we arranged their "first glance" at Doonbeg as they travelled together to The Cliffs. This was the first teary moment.

The weather was windy, misty & showery as we made the journey along the Clare coast.  We arrived and were escorted up to O' Brien's Tower  where the ceremony took place. This particular image shows exactly how the sky looked

so we continued to climb the steps and kept as positive as possible. The ceremony was beautiful and during this time the wind dropped a little and the sky brightened up. After the ceremony, the guide took us up the the top of the tower where the view was breath taking. Courtney & Troy were in their own world taking it all in.

We walked back down the steps along the wall and from no where the sun came out and thats when the magic happened. We asked our guide if we could climb the fence and take some shots on the edge of the cliff. You can see that he agreed!

A wonderful afternoon was spent with a wonderful couple and we even got the stop off at Lahinch before leaving them to their fish & chips supper at Doonbeg.

Here is what they had to say to ourselves and Michelle  "

Dear our lovely Ireland Friends!
Troy and I wanted to share with you a recent decision we made, that you all played a part in.

After Seeing the pictures and recalling the events that led up to March 17th we have decided to cancel the wedding we had planned here. Why? Because nothing could top nor compare to the special day you coordinated for us. We have since shared the details of that special day with our friends and family and a will be sending out a wedding announcement in the next week.

I hope to share our story with the blogs here in LA, and encourage others to get married in Ireland and work specifically with all of you.

Ev and Keith- I hope in a few years we can make it back out there to have you shoot pictures of us again! We are so grateful to have met all of you!

Xo
Troy and Courtney"

We hope it gives any couple who may be planning something different a little inspiration.
