Much research was done by this couple into their Wedding Specialists and when Caitiona came home at Christmas and heard our name mentioned around her circle in Cork, she rang us on her return to London and confirmed the date!
Our first meeting with Catriona was had over a glass of wine in London, a great way to start any relationship. After hearing her wedding plans we knew how much work they had put into the planning, we knew it would be a great wedding.
Ballycotton is where Caitriona and her family spend most of their Summers, so it was no surprise when that we were en-route to that very spot on the morning of the wedding.
Glen and his crew were at Ballymaloe doing final prep and Caitriona in the family home, only yards away from the Atlantic.
Family and friends experienced everything that is associated with a traditional Irish style wedding day in terms of weather and a trip to the pub after the church – why break tradition!
A few minutes were spent with the Bridal Party in Ballycotton, where our Bride spent most of her time as a little girl, so it seemed a perfect location to shoot some beautiful images there.
Not wanting to miss anything, we arrived back at Ballmaloe early, before the guests in fact, which allowed us a little more time to walk around the grounds with Caitiona & Glen with a glass of champagne and utilising the old style building as a backdrop to their day.
Winter was stealing our light but most of the guests did get to enjoy the drinks reception outside which is ideal as it breaks up the day and keeps the guests away from the main function area. They were certainly in for an evening of wonderful food at this renowned location.
As an avid fan of our blog, we know how much Caitriona will love sharing her day with other brides who are excited about planning their perfect day.
So we hope it gives you inspiration, hope and above all a little more reason to dream about your wedding day.
The beach next to the family home.
Love this image of Caitriona’s brother wishing her luck.
A little bit of walking on stone but it was worth it for the next couple of images!
